Warriors

In such an important battle, there is a great need for soldiers and the duty falls upon the followers of both the pro-life and pro-choice movements. However, those of the pro-life movement associate themselves more with a religious cause and thus believe that they are warriors doing the bidding of God. In order to justify their actions and beliefs they turn to their religious text, the Bible. The Army of God website includes multiples excerpts from scripture justifying their violent actions and their cause.

On the other side of the battle lie those who believe in the pro-choice movement. Despite their distancing of themselves from a religious cause, they have been shown to refer to doctors of abortion clinics and other members as if they were warriors for the cause. With language such as “their work on the dangerous front lines”, even these organizations insinuate the existence of a grand battle in which they are the foot soldiers.

“So we salute, not only Dr. Tiller, but the many women and men who work tirelessly to provide abortion care for those in need despite the intimidating threats that surround them. Their work on the dangerous front lines of this movement shows courage and a conviction that should be admired.”[1]
